My first ever review! Come check it out! 🙂
Taiwanese Breakfast
As I walked up to the popular and happening fusion breakfast joint, I could smell the scent of hot sauce as a 摩托車 (scooter) almost smacked me. The good news was the only thing that knocked me out was that hot sauce. As I assemble into the line for the big tables, when I first walked in the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful chalk board hung over the counter. Then, I noticed the people; it was a young crowd, people playing video games on their phones/tablets. There were also loads of modern furniture. I loved the miniature stools that complemented the restaurant’s style. I noticed that the restaurant had ample seating for big and small groups. Many people were ordering take out, which added to the overflowing restaurant. Despite the number of people in the restaurant it very well thought out and flowed nicely. I could tell they put effort into the decor of the restaurant. The restaurant was small, but it felt bigger due to the simple decor. The walls were white there was only one flower in a pot for each table, while the decorations were minimal the choice of wood tables brought warmth to a somewhat sterile interior design. While the inside felt cold that was definitely not the case with the food.
On the other hand, my mother and father had the club sandwich 早餐三明治. The club was piled high with egg, fresh lettuce, chewy pork, soft bread. It was salty a little bit spicy and a tiny bit sour. All the flavours came together and made it really yummy. They said it was delicious but the only thing that bothered them was the unusual potato salad in the sandwich, but if you’re a potato fan then I’m guessing that’s good news. I liked it but I thought it was way too salty and too much meat. They had around three layers of pork which is too much for me, but if that’s your style of sandwiches, then fine. I just think they put a little too much of everything, just a less food packed into one sandwich would be better otherwise it’s too heavy.
Overall, I loved the restaurant and would definitely recommend it to anyone interested. I would definitely say I enjoyed it and 100% sure that I would go back but the only thing is that the serving sizes are not big enough to be a full meal, so next time I would order more. 🙂
Come read my other review! it’s about a hotel in Hong Kong
Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong
We stayed in a Standard harbour view room. The room was just WOW! It was sleek, modern, sleek (yes! I used sleek twice it was just that sleek!) The room was a bit on the small side so we put the two twin beds together to make one big bed for my brother mother and I. I’d have to say the hotel was great for kids, there was a pool, gym, sauna and steam room.
The hotel had a great location, it was near the harbour but also close to the department stores. The Hyatt was accessible from the airport by train and free shuttle service offered by the hotel. You could take a taxi but your you will NEVER be the same because the ride will be crazy and insane! What I also liked was the little bit of nature, you can see the mountains from the room. As well as many fun hikes and adventures to do. Within walking distance of the hotel, there is an award winning pork bun restaurant which was delicious (美味的). We made sure that we were far from the dangerous part of the town because there were protests taking place. The hotel was far from these protests.
The reason for staying at the Hyatt was to do a visa run from Taiwan, we also wanted to have a mini family vacation and to see friends.
There were many things that stood out at the Hyatt Centric, including an infinity pool, an amazing buffet and a chocolate fountain. Some things that impressed me was the friendly staff, great location and the EXTRAORDINARY view which you may see in my amazing photos.
(P.S. The photos on google maps of this website are real and look like the actual hyatt in Hong Kong) 🙂
